Japanese Cat Cafes

So...

We were talking about stress management in my Chinese conversation class today and one of the younger Japanese students brought up the fact that in Japan they have Cat Cafes. Places you can go to pat as many cats as you want while you drink a cup of coffee. What a concept. You can check it out on the video below. Many thanks to the Youtuber for the video and the upload.

What are your thoughts on this? Would you go to a cat cafe? Do you know of any other interesting places that exist in Japan?

This post made my day!

I can’t believe that I have never thought of opening a cat cafe!!! What a great idea. I would totally visit a cat cafe, I would probably be a regular customer haha! Five star post John Kyle!

I had a feeling you'd especially like this one! Ever since the news of a cat cafe I was thinking - "Must get home to post about the cat cafe, Charles and Jane will love it!"

Hahaha, these are great working cats. They do very little beyond their normal daily activities except for putting up with grabby strangers, but they are working cats all the same. An excellent way to differentiate your cafe. I just hope they have a good air-exchanger so hair isn't getting in all the drinks. :|

Heh. I thought about the hair in the drinks as well. Surely also when the cats/customers get frisky there must be a few spilled drinks.

This has added another +1 reason to visit Japan.

What about the perfectionism of the Japanese culture?
... That this exists in Japan surprises me!
